Literature Text

Daddy, you say you miss us,
But I don’t believe you do.
You say that we don’t love you,
But that’s again untrue.

You’re so full of excuses,
For all the pain we cause,
But you refuse to take the blame,
For your mistakes and flaws.

You say you feel abandoned,
But really it’s not true,
We’ve always been right here,
It’s not us who left, it’s you.

How can you toss and turn,
And tell us its our fault,
I’m sorry you’re regretting things,
Wounds burns to dash with salt.

I have so many memories,
Most fond, the bad are few.
But in pointing out my mistakes,
I saw a different side of you.
This is a poem about my Father, and his inability to see what he is doing to his kids.
